Update Dev 168

10 October 2026

Diagram text can now grow to fill its box, so a compact diagram stays readable. Every company, trust, SMSF and partnership now carries its own jurisdiction. Merging two entities keeps their attachments. Large diagrams using Tracks routing no longer freeze when opened. In-app purchases such as ASIC extracts are now billed and collected against the organisation's saved card.

Highlights

  • Text That Fills The Box: Both diagram types now have three text modes: Fixed, Shrink to fit and Fill boxes. In Fill boxes, each label is sized on its own until it uses a set share of its box (70, 80, 90 or 100%, with 90% as the default). Text therefore grows to be read on a compact diagram, up to twice the base size. Resizing a node by hand resizes its text, and exports match the screen. Every diagram starts at a fixed text size, and Fill boxes is switched on per diagram. Existing diagrams keep the look they had, and switching between modes is quick even on large diagrams.
  • Companies, Trusts, SMSFs And Partnerships Carry A Jurisdiction: A company, trust, SMSF or partnership now always records a country, which defaults to your organisation's. The state is optional, and a blank state reads "Not known" ("None – national law" has gone). Which relationships are valid now depends only on the two entities involved.
  • Jurisdiction In Imports: An ASIC extract's foreign company reads its country from its place of incorporation. For example, "Atlanta, Georgia, USA" is read as the United States, not the country Georgia. In the ASIC and CSV link and merge dialogs, country and state are now one "Jurisdiction" row, compared by what they actually say, so an import that brings a new country alongside an old state no longer fails.
  • Entity Merge Keeps Attachments: When two entities are merged, the notes and files on a duplicate relationship that gets dropped move to the relationship that is kept. Files on a link between the two merged records move to the surviving record, together with their classifications.
  • Large Diagrams No Longer Freeze: A large ownership diagram using Tracks routing could lock the browser for up to half a minute every time it opened. That routing pass is now kept within budget. Diagrams that could afford it are routed exactly as before.
  • Legends Packed To Suit The Diagram: An ownership legend now runs its entity types, relationship types and scenario states on one after another, in their groups, without a heading. That keeps it shallow: a typical key is now two rows deep instead of three. A family-tree legend keeps its titled sections and never leaves a heading on its own at the bottom of a column.
  • Purchase Billing That Collects On Its Own: In-app purchases, such as ASIC extracts, are billed to the organisation's saved card. An extract is billed once it has been delivered. A declined payment is retried with whichever card is current. Purchases are paused, and the billing contact emailed once, after repeated declines or an invoice more than seven days overdue. Adding a new card turns them back on. Purchase billing cannot be turned off, and the card cannot be removed, while anything is still owed.
  • New Ownership Styling Defaults: Ownership diagrams now default to larger text, 18, 14 and 12px for the three text levels (was 15, 13 and 11), with each font slider centred on its default. Saved settings still on the old default sizes move to the new ones. Spacing presets are now square, and vertical spacing defaults to 200. In scenarios, the previous step's border is now dark grey. Family trees keep their sizes.
  • Saved Spacing Stays Saved: A custom layout spacing that happened to match an old default no longer snaps back after you save it. The Spacing, size & text and Saved settings panels now open without a tooltip popping up on their first control.
  • A Lighter Import Bell: The import notification bell in the header now makes one request per check instead of six, and none at all while the tab is hidden.
