This is a common issue when getting started - there are two things going on here.
Why Entities Are Missing from the Diagram
Every diagram has an active group that scopes which entities are visible. If an entity hasn't been assigned to the diagram's group, it won't appear - even if it has relationships with other entities.
You'll probably find that your missing entities are ungrouped. To fix this:
- Go to the Groups page
- Select the group your diagram is using
- Click Assign Entities
- In the pop-up, select all the entities you want visible (companies, trusts, SMSFs, etc.)
- Save
Now go back to your diagram and they should all be showing.
Tip: You can assign an entity to more than one group, so the same company can appear in multiple diagrams.
Adding Relationships Between Entities
Once all entities are visible in the diagram, you can add relationships between them. To nominate an SMSF (or any entity) as a beneficiary of a bare trust:
- Go to the Trust detail page for the bare trust
- Find the Beneficiaries section
- Click Add Beneficiary
- Select the SMSF from the entity list
- Save
The relationship will now appear on the diagram, showing the SMSF connected to the bare trust as a beneficiary.
Important: Both the trust and the beneficiary entity must be assigned to the same group for the relationship line to be visible on the diagram.
