Entity Types Reference

StructureGram supports three types of entities: Individuals, Companies, and Trusts. Each type has specific fields and properties.

Individuals

Individuals represent people in your structure. They can be family members, shareholders, directors, trustees, or beneficiaries.

Required Fields

  • First Name: The person's given name
  • Last Name: The person's family name
  • Sex: Male, Female, or Unspecified (used for avatar assignment)

Optional Fields

  • Date of Birth: Used for age calculation and avatar assignment
  • Date of Death: If applicable, marks the individual as deceased
  • Notes: Additional information about the individual

Examples

  • John Smith (Male, born 1975) - Company director and shareholder
  • Sarah Johnson (Female, born 1980) - Trust beneficiary and spouse
  • Robert Williams (Male, born 1945, died 2020) - Deceased testator

Companies

Companies represent corporate entities. They can own shares in other companies, be owned by individuals or trusts, and have directors.

Required Fields

  • Name: The company's registered name

Optional Fields

  • ACN (Australian Company Number): 9-digit company identifier
  • Status: Active, Passive, Dormant, Deregistered, or Liquidated
  • Notes: Additional information about the company

Status Meanings

StatusDescription
ActiveCompany is operating and trading
PassiveCompany exists but is not actively trading (e.g., holding company)
DormantCompany is inactive but still registered
DeregisteredCompany registration has been cancelled
LiquidatedCompany is being wound up

Examples

  • Smith Holdings Pty Ltd (ACN 123 456 789, Active) - Operating company
  • Investment Co Pty Ltd (ACN 987 654 321, Passive) - Holding company
  • Old Trading Co (Deregistered) - Historical entity

Trusts

Trusts represent trust structures. They can hold assets, have beneficiaries, trustees, and appointors.

Required Fields

  • Name: The trust's name
  • Trust Type: Discretionary, Unit, Hybrid, Testamentary, Bare Trust/Nominee, or Other

Optional Fields

  • ABN (Australian Business Number): 11-digit business identifier
  • Status: Active, Passive, Dormant, or Vested
  • Notes: Additional information about the trust

Trust Types

Status Meanings

StatusDescription
ActiveTrust is operating and making distributions
PassiveTrust exists but is not actively distributing
DormantTrust is inactive
VestedTrust has vested and is being wound up

  • Investment Unit Trust (Unit, Passive, ABN 98 765 432 100) - Property holding trust
