How to Export a Diagram

This article explains how to export a diagram so that you can share or use it outside of StructureGram.

Before You Start

You'll need an existing diagram open and ready to export.

Quick Steps

  1. Click the export icon near the top right of your diagram.
  2. A dropdown appears — choose one of the three export options below.

Export as PDF

The diagram is automatically configured for a clean output. A PDF file downloads to your computer, including a header with the diagram title (and your company logo if your organisation has one uploaded) and a footer with the date of export.

Print / PDF

  1. Configure your settings — including orientation, margins, and what to include in the output such as a company logo and diagram title.
  2. When you're happy with the settings, click Print / Export PDF.

A PDF file downloads to your computer.

Export as PNG

A PNG file downloads to your computer. The image includes only the diagram on a transparent background, with no header or footer.

Tips

  • Export as PDF is the best option for most situations — the diagram is automatically configured and the file is easy to share.
  • Use Export as PNG if you want to embed the diagram in a presentation or document.
  • Use Print / PDF if you want more control over the exported diagram.
