Import Hub
The Import Hub (/data/import-hub) is the single launchpad for bringing entities and relationships into StructureGram from external sources. It does not perform any import itself — instead, it lets you choose between the three import modalities StructureGram supports and routes you to the right workflow.
Use the Import Hub to:
- Upload an ASIC company extract PDF that you already have on your computer.
- Start a direct ASIC company extract feed so StructureGram orders the extract from ASIC for you.
- Open the XPM Sync Hub to connect to, or import from, Xero Practice Manager.
The hub also surfaces any in-progress imports awaiting your review so you can resume them in one click.
The three import modalities
1. ASIC Extract — upload a PDF
Card: ASIC Extract · Button: Upload PDF
Use this when you already have an ASIC company extract PDF saved locally (for example, one you purchased through your firm's existing ASIC account or received from a third party).
- You upload the PDF.
- StructureGram extracts the company details, directors, secretaries, and shareholders.
- You then review and decide how to handle each entity (Create / Link / Skip) before executing the import.
This is the most common starting point and is always available to tenancy members.
See Data Importing for the full review-and-execute workflow that runs after the upload.
2. ASIC Direct Feed — order the extract from inside StructureGram
Card: ASIC Direct Feed · Button: Start Direct Feed Import
Use this when you want StructureGram to order the ASIC company extract directly rather than uploading a PDF you sourced yourself. The hub talks to ASIC via the Direct Feed integration, charges the extract to your saved purchase card, and then flows into the same review-and-execute process as a PDF upload.
The card shows a status badge so you know whether the Direct Feed is ready to use:
- Ready — the integration is enabled for your tenancy and a purchase card is on file. The Start Direct Feed Import button is active.
- Billing Required — the tenancy is allowed to use the feed but no purchase card has been saved yet. An admin needs to complete billing setup in Account → Integrations.
- Disabled for Tenancy — the feed isn't enabled for your organisation. An admin can enable it in Account → Integrations.
- Unavailable — the underlying platform connection or entitlement isn't active.
If you aren't a tenancy admin and the feed isn't ready, you'll see a prompt asking you to contact your organisation's admin.
3. XPM Sync — connect to or sync from Xero Practice Manager
Card: XPM Sync
The XPM card behaves differently depending on whether your tenancy is connected to Xero Practice Manager:
- Connected — the card shows an Open XPM Sync Hub button that takes you to the dedicated XPM Sync Hub, where you import client groups, push StructureGram entities back to XPM, and reconcile differences.
- Not Connected — tenancy admins see a Set Up XPM Integration button that links to Account → Integrations. Non-admins are told to contact their organisation's admin.
The Import Hub itself does not perform XPM imports — it just gets you into the XPM Sync Hub, where the dedicated XPM workflows live.
See Connecting to Xero Practice Manager, XPM Sync, Push to XPM, and XPM Reconciliation.
Resuming an in-progress import
When you start an ASIC PDF upload or a Direct Feed order, StructureGram creates an import session and moves you into the review step. If you navigate away before executing the import, the session stays in the review state.
The Import Hub shows an amber Resume In-Progress Import banner at the top whenever you have one or more sessions awaiting review. Each entry shows the source file name and the date the import was started. You can:
- Click the session to resume it where you left off, or
- Click the trash icon to delete the session if you no longer need it (this is permanent).
There is also an Import History link on each import card that opens the full history of past imports.
Who can use the Import Hub
- The Import Hub is available to tenancy members. Shared guest access cannot run ASIC or XPM import workflows — guests will see an Import workflows are unavailable for guest access notice instead of the import cards.
- ASIC Direct Feed and XPM also require tenancy-level setup. Where setup is required and you aren't an admin, the relevant card tells you to contact your organisation's admin.
Other formats
- CSV Import appears on the hub as a Future card and is not yet available.
