File structure diagrams straight into FYI

Link a StructureGram group to its FYI client once, then file any diagram into their documents in one click. No downloading, no re-uploading, and refiling updates the copy already in FYI. For FYI Pro and Elite practices in Australia and New Zealand.

How the FYI integration works

Step 1

Connect FYI

In FYI, go to Automations, then Apps, and generate an access ID and secret on the StructureGram tile. An administrator pastes them into Account settings → Integrations → FYI and presses Connect.

Step 2

Link a group to its FYI client

Edit a group and choose the FYI client its diagrams belong to. Groups pulled from XPM show their matching FYI client first; anything else is a quick search. Pick a default cabinet if you like.

Step 3

File to FYI

From a diagram’s share options, choose File to FYI and pick PNG, PDF or both. The diagram lands in the client’s documents in seconds.

Stop downloading and re-uploading diagrams.

Export and upload

  • Export the diagram as a PDF or PNG
  • Find the client in FYI and upload it by hand
  • Old copies pile up beside the new one

Filed from StructureGram

  • One click files the diagram to the right client
  • PNG, PDF or both, into the cabinet you choose
  • Refiling a format updates that format’s copy in FYI instead of adding another
  • Each diagram files separately, so a focused sub-structure sits beside the whole group

Common questions

Who can use it, and what do I need to connect?

The integration is for Australian and New Zealand practices on FYI’s Pro or Elite plan; it isn’t available on Intermediate. An FYI admin, or a user their admins have given permission, generates an access ID and secret under Automations → Apps, and a StructureGram administrator pastes them in. You connect once, and the connection is shared by your whole practice.

How does StructureGram know which FYI client a diagram belongs to?

You link each StructureGram group to an FYI client. If the group came from XPM and the client is in FYI too, StructureGram matches them on the shared XPM record and shows the matches first. Otherwise, search for the client by name.

What happens when I change a diagram and file it again?

StructureGram updates the document it filed last time in that format instead of adding another, so the client’s documents hold the latest structure rather than a pile of near-duplicates. PNG and PDF are separate documents: refile in each format you keep in FYI, or choose Both to update the two together. If you want an earlier version kept as its own document, copy it in FYI before you refile.

Can I file more than one diagram for the same client?

Yes. Each diagram is filed as its own document, so a full group structure and a focused one — just the SMSF, say — sit side by side in FYI, and each updates only itself when refiled.

Which formats can I file?

PNG, PDF or both at once. You can include the legend, and choose a cabinet each time or let the group’s default cabinet apply.

Does anything come back from FYI into StructureGram?

No. StructureGram reads your FYI client and cabinet lists so you can choose where a diagram goes, but it only ever writes its own diagrams into FYI. Client data comes into StructureGram from XPM, ASIC Direct, or what you enter yourself.

Keep every client’s structure on file, automatically.
