Bring your group structure chart up to date with an ASIC pull

Your registers already live in your entity-management system. StructureGram is the chart beside them: when something changes, pull a fresh ASIC extract to refresh it, and export a board-ready group structure in minutes instead of redrawing it.

The chart is a job of its own

Every change means redrawing the chart

A new subsidiary, a change of director, a deregistration. The register gets updated, then someone has to find the chart file and redraw it by hand.

The chart and the register drift apart

When the chart is a separate drawing, it falls behind the register. By the time the board pack goes out, nobody is sure the two agree.

Your system’s chart isn’t board quality

Entity-management systems are built for registers and compliance. Their structure charts are cramped and hard to read, and rarely good enough for the board pack or the annual report.

Everyone asks for a different version

Auditors want the whole group, the board wants a summary, and legal wants the trust chain. Keeping several versions of one chart current is a job in itself.

How company secretaries use StructureGram

  1. Step 1

    Bring the group in once

Import your entity list from a spreadsheet export of your register, and pull Australian companies straight from ASIC. Officeholders and shareholdings come in for you, and duplicates merge.

  2. Step 2

Pull a fresh ASIC extract when something changes

Pull a fresh extract for the company that changed. StructureGram shows you what is different, you review it, and the chart updates. The chart reflects ASIC as at your last pull, and there is no redrawing.

  3. Step 3

Export the version each audience needs

Save views for the board, auditors and legal from the same data. Export a PDF or PNG with your logo and a legend, ready for the board pack.

Checks a drawing tool can’t make

StructureGram understands companies, trusts and their relationships, and checks each relationship against rules like these as you add it.

  • Partner and asset ownership interests cannot exceed 100%
  • A company cannot hold shares in its own shareholder
  • A company cannot hold its own shares through a trust
  • A company cannot be trustee of a trust that holds its shares
  • Only valid entity types can act as trustee
  • Multiple share classes and rights tracked
  • Active, dormant and deregistered status tracked
  • Duplicate entities detected and merged
  • Start and end dates on every entity and relationship

A group structure chart you can sign off.

ASIC Direct, built in

Search for any company by name or ACN and choose a current or historical extract. StructureGram reads the officeholders and shareholdings and places them in the chart. Companies you already have are updated, not duplicated.

  • Through a certified ASIC information broker, with no separate ASIC account
  • Officeholders, shareholdings and share classes included
  • Review every change before it is applied
  • Combine many extracts in one group chart
  • Pay per extract, only when you pull one

Officeholders, then and now

Every directorship, secretaryship and shareholding can carry start and end dates. Show the group as it stood on any date, or everything in place across a period, so you can answer questions like "who were the directors last 30 June?".

  • Point-in-time view of the whole group
  • Show everything in place across a period
  • Compare the group at different dates
  • Historical officeholders from ASIC extracts
  • Export historical views for auditors

Keep your registers where they are

StructureGram does not replace your registers, compliance calendar or minute books. It is the chart: the board-ready view of your group that your entity-management system was never built to draw.

Questions from company secretaries

Does StructureGram replace our entity-management system?

No. StructureGram works alongside whatever holds your registers today, whether that is an entity-management platform such as Diligent Entities, Athennian or Computershare GEMS, or a spreadsheet. StructureGram does not connect to those systems. Export your entity list to a spreadsheet, import it, and pull Australian companies from ASIC. StructureGram is developed by Syntaq Solutions Pty Ltd and is not affiliated with Diligent, Athennian or Computershare; their names belong to their owners.

Does the chart update itself when ASIC changes?

No. Extracts are pulled on demand: StructureGram does not watch the register. When a company changes, or before a board pack goes out, pull a fresh extract. StructureGram shows what is different, and once you have reviewed it the chart is updated.

What does an ASIC extract cost?

Each extract is charged when you pull it, at the price shown on the ASIC Direct page. There is no ASIC subscription to take out.

How do we get our existing group in?

Export your entity list from your register system to a spreadsheet and import it, then pull each Australian company from ASIC to bring in officeholders and shareholdings. Book a demo and we will help you load your first part of the group.

Can we produce different charts for the board and the auditors?

Yes. Filter groups give each audience its own view of the same data, such as a summary for the board or the whole group for the auditors. Each exports to PDF or PNG with your logo and a legend.

Is StructureGram suitable for sensitive corporate information?

Yes. StructureGram is developed by Syntaq Solutions Pty Ltd, an ISO/IEC 27001 certified Australian software company. Data is hosted in Australia, with role-based access controls, audit logs and encryption of sensitive fields. Our security whitepaper is available for your vendor assessment.
