How to Attach Documents to an Entity

This article explains how to add and manage documents on an entity so that its supporting paperwork stays with it. For background on document types and limits, see Entity Documents.

Before You Start

Make sure the entity already exists, and that you have permission to manage it. Documents can be PDF, Word, plain text or Markdown files, up to 25 MB each.

Upload a Document

  1. Open the entity's page.
  2. Find the Files section.
  3. Click Add (or Upload).
  4. Choose the file from your computer.
  5. Optionally give it a title and pick a document type (for example, Trust deed).
  6. Click Upload.

The document appears in the Files section straight away.

Download, Replace or Remove

From the Files section, use the actions next to each document to:

  • Download — open or save a copy.
  • Replace — upload a new version in place of the existing file (keeps it in the same slot).
  • Rename — change the document's title.
  • Delete — remove the document. This can't be undone.

What You'll See

Uploaded documents are listed in the Files section with their title, type and size. They're visible to anyone who can view the entity, and downloads stream securely through the app.
